The Gulf War vet says he wanted “to escape public scrutiny” and not “be a part of the freak show.” Now 42 and living in Arizona, he changed his name from Lutz in the 1980s while serving in the U.S. Then he was Chris Lutz, but now he is known as Christopher Quaratino. The anonymous buyers are the fourth owners of the house after the Lutz’s, who publicized the house and captivated the world in their haunted stories. Now the infamous house has new owners after the property was on the market for a little over two months. But, I always went to the library, so immediately I took out Jay Anson’s book, The Amityville Horror: A True Story. I don’t remember which I’d completed first the movie or the book. I was a young girl, I’d heard that the story was supposed to be true and there was a movie depicting it. I probably wouldn’t pay it much mind to even post about it, but it is something that always grips my attention because it was the first parnormal story I completely immersed myself in. I know that the Amityville Horror stories are pretty much the most controversial and well known out of any other paranormal story. Of course that is a very big clue (and red flag) for things to have happened to him and his family. It’s a wonder that there hasn’t been more information found out about George Lutz’s involvement with the occult. ![]() But he insists his stepfather at the time, George Lutz, brought the troubles on himself by dabbling in the occult and then amplified what paranormal incidents did occur to profit off books and movies about the house. ![]() Now 37 and living in Scottsdale, Ariz., Quaratino maintains the haunting was not a hoax. This will include a chilling, real-life depiction of the Amityville haunting as it has never been presented before, incident by incident, following Daniel through his childhood and onward.įive years ago, the Lutz’s other son, Christopher (who changed his last name to Quaratino to escape the public) came forward with a few comments regarding his old home.įrom the original article at Both witness testimonies and rare archival footage will be presented to bring Daniel’s story to life. My Amityville Horror will include a personal look at Lutz’s own life a first-hand account of the terrifying events that occurred to his entire family his reflections on how his parents dealt with the exposure and the media-frenzy that befell them and, how both experiences have affected his life since.Īn independent team of investigators and filmmakers have joined together to present the first accurate portrayal of the Amityville events to date. Being only 10 at the time of his 28 day stay on Ocean Ave., he’s stayed away from the media and telling his story until now. My Amityville Horror is a whole new view to the story coming from the oldest son, Daniel Lutz. So, I am extremely excited to announce a new film in the works. Not many supernatural stories have done that. Hoax or not, I don’t know that we’ll ever know but the story has captivated our entire nation. ![]() But, I like to post interesting things about it when I come across them just because Amityville is the very thing that started my lifelong interest in the paranormal. I know some people are mesmerized by the whole Amityville story while others couldn’t care any less.

This is opposed to many neighbouring provinces like PEI and New Brunswick where the utility covers the cost of a new meter. Nova Scotia’s Enhanced Net Metering Program charges you approximately $250 for a bi-directional meter when you connect to the grid (if you don’t already have one). It allows for systems up to 100kW in size to be connected to the grid and credits can be carried forward month-to-month.Īdditionally, if you have excess credits at the end of the year, you will get a cash payment for them! The only catch is that you’re not allowed to purposely oversize your system – it has to match your previous consumption history. Nova Scotia’s Enhanced Net Metering Program falls in the “good” category for net metering policies. Bad net metering policy allows you to earn only partial credits for excess energy and credits can’t be carried forward month-to-month. Good net metering policy allows you to earn full credits for your excess energy which can be carried month-to-month. It’s common to produce excess energy during the day and summer but not enough at night and during the winter – so this policy is important! Net Metering essentially means that you earn credits for the excess energy that you produce, which can then be used at a later time. Net Metering is one of the most important policy mechanisms that makes solar a feasible energy generation option. This means a CCA rate of 100% and the abolishment of the first year rule. Go back to the Common Solar Questions section if you’re not sure where these numbers are coming from!īusinesses can now use the Federal Tax Provision for Clean Energy Equipment to fully expense their solar system. Thus, the cost of a 9.17kW system would decrease from $23,384 to $17,882. Here is what the savings would look like for a 9.17kW system: This program allows property owners to earn a cash rebate of $0.60/watt for residential solar power installations with a minimum size of 1kW and up to a maximum rebate amount of $6,000. The primary solar incentive in Nova Scotia is the SolarHomes Program administered by Efficiency Nova Scotia. Rebate applications, including all paperwork, should be handled entirely by your installation company. This includes the stipulation that the system must be installed by an Efficiency Nova Scotia qualified installer with CSA approved electric equipment. Finally, rebates in Nova Scotia must meet certain installation qualifications. In general, eligible expenses include the full cost of materials and installation, but not tax. Rebates have a maximum funding amount that is based on a percentage of total eligible expenses. Jump back up to the System Sizing section if you don’t understand what this means. Rebates in the province are awarded based on the size of the system you install, in units of watts. We’ve scored Nova Scotia 9/20 for this section. These factors are important because they reduce the upfront system costs. Nova Scotia is one of only two provinces with an unrestricted province-wide solar energy incentive. Rural property owners put systems on the roof of their house or shop – or on the ground in their yard. Most residential homeowners in Nova Scotia put solar panels on their roof. Thus, these systems are more efficient and have better lifetime IRRs and NPVs.They are more efficiency because they can be easily placed to the optimal direction (south), the optimal angle (~45°), and to avoid shading. These systems are more expensive upfront due to piling, mounting, and trenching requirements. If you’re putting solar panels on the ground, you should know that: You may need to replace your shingles (or entire roof) before installing – because panels are guaranteed for 25 years!.A south facing roof is best, east and west facing are good, but north is not great. If you’re putting solar panels on your roof, you should know that: You would do the above calculation and determine that you need 550sqft of space to install your system! Let’s continue from the previous section and assume that you need a 9.17kW system. (average size of panel = 0.3kW, average physical panel size = 18sqft) ![]() Physical space required = size of system needed (in kW) / size of panel (in kW) * physical size of panel (in sqft) The equation to calculate the space that your solar system require is again simple: The main feature of the Google Duo Apk app is its high quality video calling that allows people to experience reality. "It's just a heightened situation with Packers fans and their enthusiasm." "You see those things all the time, an emotion involved with whatever stories are out there," Popkey said. That team loyalty, and the emotion that goes with it, is a double-edged sword, never more apparent than when Brett Favre retired and un-retired in 2008, then was traded to the New York Jets. Packers fans were agitated on both sides of the issue. All of those requests are not decided by Public Affairs, but it's often the first point of contact. Last year it donated 490 trees to 19 Brown County entities.Ī wide range of requests, from seeking information to support for organizations and causes, comes to the Packers from all over the world because of the team's broad and loyal following. The team's First Downs for Trees program, which every year donates trees to local municipalities, was an idea of Popkey's to help the team reduce its carbon footprint. “To be in a position to influence decisions where to support and how much to support and how to support, that’s really fulfilling.” “This organization received all this support from the community through all these years and now for the organization to be in a position to impact things in a very positive way is wonderful,” Popkey said. Popkey is involved in such organizations as the chamber of commerce, Advance, Live 54218, Cellcom Green Bay Marathon, Bellin Health Foundation and Notre Dame High School, some of it on behalf of the team and some because of personal interest. About 10 years ago, he moved out of the football side altogether. Popkey's transition into non-football operations - the team’s public relations apparatus now includes football and non-football units - was the result of Lambeau Field's expansion and a belief that the team was not getting its message across about its community involvement. Ancient Egyptians, Chinese and Florence Nightingale have documented the therapeutic uses of music for healing purposes ( White 2000). ![]() Historically, music has been universally valued for its psychological and physiological effects on humans ( Murrock 2005). ![]() As a result, physical inactivity is a major public health problem in most countries therefore, effective strategies are urgently needed to improve physical activity in all populations worldwide. Unfortunately, at least 60% of the world’s population does not engage in the recommended amount of physical activity needed to produce these health benefits ( World Health Organization 2008). Furthermore, physical activity produces health benefits through positive effects on hypertension, osteoporosis, body weight and composition, decreased depression, anxiety, stress and decreased falls ( World Health Organization 2008). These health benefits include decreased risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, colon and breast cancer. It is recommended that adults engage in at least 30 minutes of physical activity three to five times per week to obtain health benefits. Physical activity is defined as any bodily movement produced by skeletal muscles that require energy expenditure ( USDHHS 2000). Thus, this paper presents a discussion of a middle-range nursing theory developed from physical activity guidelines and music theory to improve the health outcomes of weight, blood pressure, glycolated haemoglobin, cardiovascular risk factors and quality of life. By combining psychological and physiological responses to music, the proposed theory of music, mood and movement (MMM) provides potential cross-cultural prescriptions for music as a nursing intervention to promote the initiation and maintenance of physical activity. As for physiological responses, the rhythmic auditory stimulation (RAS) technique ( Thaut et al. Based on the Parse Research Method, music is the medium for expressing feelings ( Jonas-Simpson 1997), the experience of being listened to ( Jonas-Simpson 2003) and quality of life in patients with dementia ( Jonas-Simpson 2004). Currently, there are two middle-range nursing theories that emphasize the psychological responses of music to improve health outcomes: the theory of pain: a balance between analgesia and side effects ( Good 1998) and the theory of individualized music intervention for agitation (IMIA) ( Gerdner 1997). Through the ordering of tones or sounds to produce compositions, music produces psychological and physiological responses within the human body. One strategy is to develop a middle-range theory with music as an intervention to increase physical activity and improve health outcomes. Hence, cross-cultural, innovative, evidence-based strategies to promote physical activity and improve a wide range of health outcomes continue to be an important area for nursing research and practice worldwide. Unfortunately, physical inactivity is increasingly prevalent in industrialized countries and contributes to obesity and chronic diseases, such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes ( Hirvensalo et al. International guidelines for physical activity recommend that adults engage in regular, moderate–intensity physical activity for at least 30 minutes per day for 3–5 days per week to obtain health benefits ( USDHHS 2000, Canadian Fitness and Lifestyle Research Institute 2002, Van Sluijs et al. |
